The coupling kit is a one-piece c/w ten stainless steel screws. We connect any two Silent X-Stream Air Blade Air Knife of 6” or larger. Thus, making a longer blowoff system to cover greater distances.

The units come in three models.

• Model 10900X gold anodized aluminum for the gold anodized aluminum Silent X-Stream® Air Blade® Air Knives
• Model 10900XHA for the Hard Anodized units
• Model 10900XS stainless for stainless steel models

Production of Air Knives has a consistent design among the various lengths. You allow them to be attached end to end, creating longer distances than the intended standard.

Air knives more extended than 54” can get progressively more costly to produce, and attaching them end to end with coupling kits can be more economical.

Because of the whole flow design on Nex Flow air knives, the flow is essentially even after 6 inches from the coupled air knives.

Another issue is that we need more air inlets at the back to feed the compressed air to ensure even pressure buildup and flow across the entire length of the air knife.

Also, because of the tight tolerances demanded by Nex Flow for high quality, it becomes increasingly more challenging the more extended the air knife, and only a few companies can achieve that.

The longer the air knife, the less force per inch is also due to the consistent plenum chamber design across all sizes.

It is sometimes advantageous to couple together (with the coupling kits) a length is several smaller length air knives instead of one long one to have a higher overall force output.
